This is based on top coats using highly durable polyester resins and high quality pigments to provide a coating suitable for most end uses involving outdoor exposure to the weather. Specifically formulated primers provide high adhesion and enhanced corrosion resistance. Different gloss levels are available from low gloss measured at around 15 units, through the semi gloss range, 20- 60 units, to the very high gloss finishes in excess of 80 units required. A very wide colour range can be produced.
Polyester 100 is designed for outdoor exposure and to be applied on electro-chemically pretreated and primer coated aluminium for roofing, cladding, seamless gutter systems etc...
Polyester 100 is based on binders of polyester and melamine.
The top coat film thickness of the Polyester 100 is normally 20 micron.
Bends tests are carried out using ECCA method 17.
Natural Weather Resistance
This refers to the ability of coatings to resist changes in appearance after being exposed to normal climatic conditions over prolonged periods. Polyester 100 is expected to perform satisfactorily for a period of 15 years in cladding applications when exposed in normal temperature climates. During that period normal weathering of the coating will occur with a reduction in the gloss and a gradual uniform colour change over the lifetime of the coatings. Over painting to retain appearance may be necessary in some environments. More rapid deterioration of the coating may occur in abnormally corrosive locations, such as downwind of chemical plants, or in areas of particularly high sunlight activity and care should be exercised in the use of this coating type in excessively high temperature applications.
